This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • the mobile application Vespucci: Countries Visited (Google Play package name leorigna.vespucci.app), and
  • the NomadGroups website at https://nomadgroups.wiki.

Both are published and operated by Leonardo Rignanese, an individual based in Italy. Leonardo Rignanese is the developer named on the Google Play store listing for Vespucci: Countries Visited and is the data controller for this policy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Vespucci: Countries Visited app or the NomadGroups website (together, the "Service").

Vespucci: Countries Visited (mobile app)

The Vespucci: Countries Visited app, published on Google Play by Leonardo Rignanese (package leorigna.vespucci.app), stores:

  • Email address, and a bcrypt hash of your password if you sign up with email. We cannot read your password.
  • A Google or Apple identifier if you sign in that way. We never receive your Google or Apple password.
  • Countries you mark, including whether you have been, want to go, or are going, and how long you stayed.
  • Optional profile details you type: a display name, a traveller type, interests.
  • Purchase state from Google Play or the App Store (whether you have paid, until when, and a customer id from the payment processor). Card numbers never reach us.
  • A Telegram chat id, only if you deliberately link Telegram.

App analytics record which screens open and which actions happen. They do not include your email, name, tokens, user id, which countries you marked, your passport nationality, or any text you typed. Crash reports go to Sentry with local variables switched off. Sign-in emails are sent by Resend. Your IP address is used once, when a price is shown, to work out which country you are in; the country is kept, the lookup is not stored against your account. You can delete your account and this data in the app: Settings → Delete account.

  • Email Address: When you create an account or make a purchase, we collect your email address for authentication and communication purposes.
  • Payment Information: When you make a purchase, payment is processed securely through Dodo Payments. We do not store your credit card details on our servers.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: We collect anonymous analytics data about how you use our Service, including pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns.
  • Device Information: We may collect basic information about your device type and browser for improving user experience.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Service
  • Process transactions and send related information
  • Send you technical notices and support messages
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and requests
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve user experience

  • Service Providers: We work with third-party services that help us operate the Service. For the NomadGroups website that includes Dodo Payments and email delivery. For Vespucci: Countries Visited that includes Google and Apple (sign-in and in-app purchases), Sentry (crash reports), and Resend (sign-in emails). These providers only have access to the information necessary to perform their functions.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

Cookies and Analytics

We use privacy-focused analytics to understand how visitors use our Service. This analytics data is anonymous and does not track individual users across websites. We may use essential cookies for authentication and session management.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

Data Retention
